Chix Savour, Lahug Cebu

This month may just be one of the saddest months in my entire Foodie life. Why? Because we just found out from the owner herself, Mrs. Annrea Sy Almario, that our favourite Chinoy Restaurant, Chix Savour, had already closed business. And no, they did not move to a new location—they just really closed the business. I didn’t bother ask why but I would assume that they might be leaving Philippines for good or whatnot because I’m pretty sure it isn’t because the place got bankrupted.

Two of our favorite dishes on the menu.

I still cannot forget the first day we ate here. It was a rainy afternoon after work when my friend, Rachel, and I discovered Chix Savour. And eversince that day, Chix Savour became our favourite go-to restaurant everytime we are yearning for something delicious but on the budget. We would in fact walk all the way from the office (eBloc2 Tower) to this humble restaurant just to eat lunch or have an early dinner after work. And mind you, service is quick because there was never a day that we went over our allocated lunch break when eating here (in comparison with eating at Everything Yummy which is supposed to be just below eBloc2).

Some of our favourite dishes here are Tofulicious and Chix Mami. These are 2 of the dishes on the menu that we never forget to order on each visit. And the serving is very generous!

My friends and I also love their Budget Meals: Chix Finger and Veggie Lumpia Meal. Their Bunso Belly is really good too. I just love its juicy and tender meat but serving size is a bit small so might as well order the Big Brother Belly for 100% guaranteed satisfaction. I also love that every Meal comes with a juice of your choice (iced tea or pineapple) and soup!

I don't have a photo of the Veggie Lumpia but it's the one behind the noodles. LOL!

They also have sizzling meals such as Sizzling Burger Steak, Sizzling Porky Steak and Sizzling Chix Steak but unfortunately they were out of the 2 latter steaks so we only got to try their sizzling burger steak. It was good but my friend found it a bit bland.

The last thing I ate at Chix Savour (on our lat visit before they closed *sob*) was their Boneless Bangus Value Meal which was fried to perfection. But I was kind of hoping that they included the fatty belly part of the Bangus in this dish. My friend, Rachel, also loved their Beef Brisket Mami. And I just love the fact that they are quite generous on the toppings (braised beef cutlets, chicken slices, steamed pork wanton) on their Mami Noodles.

And last but not the least… their dessert! We have sampled both the Choco Mango Crepe and Choco Banana Crepe and both are absolutely delish!

I know it may seem that it’s too late for this blog now since Chix Savour already closed their restaurant. But I wouldn’t want to miss out in sharing the great dining experience I’ve had with them (Better late than never, right?). Their service is indeed top notch! We had in fact tried pre-ordering through their FB page before, so that when we arrive at their restaurant for lunch everything would be ready and (guess what?) the owner herself would respond to our messages—very accommodating! And I liked how hands on she is with the business.

Me, Rachel and Jacke.

We are still hoping that Chix Savour would soon open its doors again. But whatever their reason for closing down, I would still like to say, “Thank you Chix Savour for the great dining experience!
